The VPN providers listed here are special due to their advancement of broadband secure networking with a method of obfuscating traffic to thwart attacks by national firewalls operated by China, Iran, Syria, and other countries. Services marked as Intermittently Blocked are putting up a good fight, often targeted but not defeated by the censors. Providers listed are particularly advanced in their ability so automatically configure and not requiring high user skills. They can find the best server, make sure it is not blocked, then make the connection - usually in just a few seconds:

What about SoftEther? There is presently no official Android or Linux application, just shitty dirthacks. You should visit their forums and complain loudly and daily about their lack of support for the immense number of devices using Android or Linux. Mere inclusion of OpenVPN and L2TP/IPSec is insufficient. Tell them to get off their asses, work harder, and write a native Android and Linux applications for SoftEther.

As of late 2022, state sponsored censorship is super sophisticated, able to detect and block VPNs in minutes. State actors are able to evaluate servers you may be using and block access to specific ports, breaking specific services they do not like. Set up your own server using a management package like Streisand or Algo.

VPN Gate continues to be a prolific source for finding OpenVPN servers running right now. However, it is often blocked. Visit our OpenVPN and L2TP/IPsec server list to find fresh VPNs to use.
